This isn’t a ‘new’ doc — and we did cover it on TODAY — but I just got around to sitting down and watching it. So glad I did!
This is the kind of film you need to watch from start to finish to get the full effect (but if you’re anything like me, you’ll be captivated from the first second). It’s beautiful on so many levels —Caine’s creativity, intelligence and innocence… the love and awe his dad has for him… the way people come together (in this case, with the help of Reddit!)… it’s the kind of story that makes a difference.
And it has and does continue to make a difference — Nirvan, who created the film (and was Caine’s first customer!), started a scholarship foundation to raise money for Caine’s future… to this point, more than $200,000 has been donated and the project has expanded.
This is the kind of story that pushes us to try to find more like it — and to infuse more moments with this kind of energy, magic and all-around good.
