The past few days were a whirlwind of strawberry picking, back deck sitting, guitar plucking and barefoot walking and it was just what the doctor ordered. I feel level-headed and excited, satisfied and refreshed, content and motivated, all at the same time, and right now — windows open with rain streaming outside, warm coffee and cool blueberries on the bookshelf next to me, playing a mix of music and reading a postcard I found in my mailbox tonight — is the cherry on top of a perfect weekend.
Unfortunately, while I had grand plans to play with both the Beaulieu 4008 (borrowed) and Canon 60D (owned) I brought to Montauk, once we made it there I didn’t feel like lugging either around. So above, I give you the only two photos I myself ended up taking, of course (ruined? accented?) with an instagr.am filter.
There’s just something about a few-hour-drive, lined with trees and filled with laughter and sprinkled with stops for giant sodas, that makes me feel nostalgic and ready for what’s next, simultaneously.
